Who Really Supports This Project?

We shared the lists of leases and easements for Schuyler County months ago. As the turbines are going up, and people are faced everyday with a forever altered view from their homes, its time to share this list again.

As more turbines are erected, the reality is that they cannot be ignored. They are massive, formidable monstrosities.

So, if you feel the need to hold someone accountable, along with the Commissioners of Schuyler and Adair Counties, use this list to find the people you need to raise your concerns with: High Prairie/Blue Star Lease and Easement.

Unfortunately, we only have the lease and easement information for Schuyler County, as compiling this takes hours, which we do in our "free" time and without compensation. All of this information is publicly available and can be found for Adair County as well, just stop by your local court house.

One final thing, as we know that not everyone will pull up the list and read if fully, we think it is important that everyone see these numbers:

High Prairie Wind Project:

Percentage of Population of Schuyler with Signatures, Total Number 8.76%

Percentage of Population of Schuyler With Signatures, Actually Reside in Schuyler (276) 6.12%

Percentage of Land Area Initially Leased 26.17%

Percentage of Signatures Getting Turbines (112) 28.35%

Percentage of Signatures Getting Turbines - Live in Schuyler (76) 19.24%

Percentage of Population of Schuyler Getting Turbines (76) 1.69%

Percentage of Land Leases Commenced (29,631 Acres) 15.03%

Percentage of Leaseholder with Turbines Living Within ONE Mile of Turbine (38) 9.60%

Percentage of Leaseholder with Turbines Living Within ONE Mile of Turbine - Total Population (38) 0.84%

On a good note, recently the Blue Star Project was withdrawn, as well as the project in Putnam and Sullivan Counties. If you remember, we had a blog that discussed all the potential projects in Northeast Missouri.

The Blue Star Project (in northern Schuyler, Appanoose and Davis Counties) was withdrawn on March 25, 2019. It is our understanding that all leaseholders for that project have now received termination letters.

For a final reminder: We are aware that not every person who signed a lease did it with malice or ill-intent. However, many signed for money. Others were quite literally swindled and mislead. We will provide the information, you can make your own determination regarding each person's motives. Remember, that those who are truly accountable are the commissioners. They had the authority the implement restrictions on this project and protections for their constituents, the people who live within the footprint, those affected daily.
